Trio, which way please?

WPC Victory

Can’t help but re-post this particular entry done way back in 2008.  I say this is “victory” because I thought I’d never make it to the top of Mt Kinabalu at 13,455ft, South East Asia’s highest,  but I did. What you see in this picture may no longer be a true representation of what you will see of the mountain or its surroundings today, after the 5.9-magnitude quake that rocked the state’s west coast on June 6, 2015. Ornate = “made in an intricate shape or decorated with complex patterns.”

This grand building structure is definitely ornate. This is part of The Venetian Macao – a luxury hotel and casino resort in Macau, China, owned by Las Vegas Sands. It is the first giant casino located on reclaimed land between two islands called the Cotai Strip. Truly great design – its  distinctive interior resembles the beautiful city of Venice.

not practised but …

Halloween is something that is not celebrated here, well, at least not officially yet though many younger generations already are. I guess just for the fun of it 🙂

The pictures that follow are what’s left of the building that used to house Sabah Land and Survey Department(SLDB), later on the Welfare Department. I believe another department has occupied this building (can’t recall what) after SLDB.  One of the oldest buildings, sadly gutted by fire in the 1990s.

The following pictures are what’s left of it … Read more
